New Orleans Airlift presents: Twilight Serenade

October 30, 2019 11:30pm - November 4, 2019 12am

Our monthly supper club under the stars features local talents in concert with the sounds of the Music Box Village, directed by Tif “Teddy” Lamson.

New Orleans Airlift continues its 10th Anniversary season with a series of monthly concerts showcasing the sounds of their flagship project, The Music Box Village.

Join us November 3rd for Twilight Serenade, a special evening where we feature the talents of local musicians in concert with the sounds of the Music Box Village. These one-of-a-kind performances, led by Tif "Teddy" Lamson (GIVERS), highlight the special sonic qualities of the one-of-a-kind art installation.

“Season after season, we’ve found that it’s the local musicians, those who get to return to our Village over time, that produce some of our most magical moments” says Lead Creative Producer, Leah Hennessy, “this series is designed to showcase their work and lead to even deeper engagement.”

This month's cast features Alexis Marceaux frontwoman of Cajun crossover band Sweet Crude, along with cellist and violist Free Feral, composer and avant garde percussionist Mikel Patrick Avery, trumpeter and Frenchman Street fixture Ben Polcer, and guitarist Joshua Starkman, known for his viral “Have A Great Day” videos on Instagram. Together the cast will animate the Music Box Village with original songs, improvisations, and familiar tunes.

Twilight Serenade is a special opportunity to enjoy dinner and a show at the Music Box Village. This month, we are pleased to feature our friends at Congreso Cubano! They'll be offering a Latin-American inspired plate with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Designed as a supper club experience, we offer package tickets that include a spread fit for two and a bottle of wine. Individual packages include dinner only.

A la carte dinner options will be limited on the night of the show. Individual dinner packages do not include drinks - our full bar will be available for purchase! BYOB is not allowed at the Music Box Village.

Limited seating is available at shared tables, but we encourage guests to bring blankets and festival seating to dine al fresco.

Many thanks to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation for supporting our Twilight Serenade series this Fall!

ABOUT NEW ORLEANS AIRLIFT & THE MUSIC BOX VILLAGE

New Orleans Airlift is an artist-driven organization established in 2009, whose mission is to collaborate to inspire wonder, connect communities, and foster opportunities through the creation of experimental public artworks. Its flagship project, the Music Box Village, is a permanent installation of “musical architecture” that serves as a one-of-a-kind site for collaboration between New Orleans artists and artists across the world. More than a venue, the Music Box Village is an engine of possibilities, and a mechanism for growth as performers stretch their capabilities through creative residency.
