With your help, we can open the Music Box Village to all. Your support allows us to
- maintain and grow the Village,
- add new art and new houses,
- and create new and surprising collaborations – and paid opportunities – for hundreds of artists, musicians, performers and more.
We need your help to make it happen. Our pay-what-you-wish hours do not receive corporate or governmental support – we rely solely on donations from visitors and supporters like yourself.

New Orleans Airlift is excited to present a new collaborative Music Box structure! In their first year bringing large-scale public artworks to Jazz Fest, visitors will get a peek at the installation and instrumentation-building process, as well as new interactive education workshops and hands-on playtime for all ages. Stop by and catch surprise cameo appearances from Airlift’s many artistic and musical friends and family, or tune into Airlift’s Instagram: neworleans.airlift for up-to-the-minute announcements.
Created by the Airlift team – Alita Edgar, Christian Repaal, Delaney Martin, and Taylor Shepherd with assistance from Leah Hennessey, Marshall Hawks & Jay Pennington – “Porch Life” is an explorable multi-level structure featuring seven new instrumental features. “Porch Life” takes inspiration from gathering places between the indoors and outdoors, twilight hours spent together between daytime and nighttime, and the evolutionary life of a house that is no longer intact over time.
MUSIC BOX VILLAGE LOCATION: 4557 North Rampart Street, New Orleans 70117

The Music Box Village is a one-of-a-kind, artist-built sculpture garden. We require children under 16 to be accompanied by an adult at all times, with a minimum of one adult per three children due to safety concerns.
While we welcome exploration and play, children must be supervised at all times due to the delicate nature of our instruments. The Music Box Village is not intended as a playground. Entry is at your own risk. Dogs are not allowed inside the fence and must be on leash on the grounds.
