Development and Fundraising Director

Parameters for this position include:
- At least four years of professional experience in development and fundraising
- Writing experience and samples
- B.A. or higher degree or equivalent
- National experience a plus
- Tech skills incl. Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite, Powerpoint
- Demonstrated experience in planning, project management, goal-setting, management, communications
Seeking Part-Time Teaching Artists for Fall 2018
The Music Box Village seeks highly qualified arts educators for the 2018-2019 school year.
Teaching artists guide tours on field trips, and for guests in open hours. You will participate in orientation to articulate the site’s story, and model how to use the instruments in each house. Teaching artists will also host specific arts activities in their field of knowledge.
1-3 years experience practicing an art form and working with students
The ability to effectively lead a group of students and adults through learning activities
The ability to plan engaging and clear arts-based lesson plans with measurable outcomes
The ability to help develop new and innovative arts programs
Hours average 10-14 hours per week
During the school year, the Village offers an average of 2 field trips per week with a 3 hour commitment from 9AM-12PM. Dates vary, and are typically planned 2-4 weeks ahead of time.
Public hours are hosted during the weekends. Shifts are typically six hours. This opportunity is developed for working artists and factors in each person’s level of availability.

Arts-based lesson plan: Imagine that you will lead a 25 minute arts activity in the village for a group of 15 students. Consider an activity within your art form that you would do with students on a sunny day. Explain what the objective is, what key points you will teach, what the activity will look like and what materials you would use.
We want our team to reflect the city of New Orleans. People of color, indigenous people, women, queer folks, trans* and gender non-conforming people, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
We accept volunteers every weekday from 10am – 4pm, and on weekends & events.
We have both indoor and outdoor tasks working alongside our artists and builders. Volunteers who log 40 hours or more are rewarded with event tickets…
